Joyful, lovely and wise Moomins - The Moomin Museum of Tampere takes visitors to the marvelous world of Moomins

Everywhere in the world there are people who love Moomins, the characters created by the Finnish writer Tove Jansson (1914-2001). Besides in the charming books you get to know Moomins also at the new Moomin Museum in Tampere Finland. The museum is situated at the Tampere house and is very well done. The interactive Museum takes the visitors to the exciting world of Moomins. The permanent exhibition, What Happens Next? combine texts and images, it retells the entire story of the Moomins, starting from the first book The Moomins and the Great Flood (1945) through to the last wistful Moomin tale, Moominvalley in November (1970). The twelve Moomin books keep visitors guessing “What happens next?” as they travel from one story to the next. The Moomin Museum’s collection of drawings and paintings by Jansson are rounded out with a selection of three-dimensional Moomin tableaux by her partner, the graphic artist Tuulikki Pietilä .
