The summer brought the street festivals and village celebrations to Helsinki - Kumpula had the traditional flea market
Summer came to Finland. This weekend in Helsinki there has been many street festivals and village parties in different parts of the city. After the long winter and cold spring, people carry out tables and chairs and organize pavement cafes and restaurants with home made food and cookies. In Kumpula there was a traditional flea market day. A mile long Limingantie filled with flea market tables and cafes. Buskers played their joyous music. The summer of Finland is short and therefore everything is taken away from it. Heat, togetherness, laughter and beautiful nature are good reasons for enjoying life.
